Following my “Super Survey” in the last issue, this is my “Surprising Sports Survey”! Weeks ago, I went around asking the students of GSBH what their favorite sports were. I found some very surprising answers. The answers were different from what I thought I would get! 11% said football. 2% said downhill skiing, which surprised me a lot. 10% said they liked other sports that weren’t on the survey. A first grader even said she liked horseback riding, which I thought was really cool! Another 10% said basketball. I thought this sport would get much more votes, but after all, it IS a surprising survey! 3% said baseball. Another 10% said tennis. A surprising 13% said swimming! An unexpected 2% said track and field. 10% said dancing. 23% said they liked soccer. “I’ve been playing soccer since I was 3. I think soccer is very fun, and a good way to socialize with friends. It’s also a way to get great exercise,” said Mateus Johnson, 5th Grade.
