The older grades (5 – 8) received new playground equipment such as jump ropes, new balls, and even a ping pong table. One of the most popular new items are the extra long jump ropes that the students use to play games such as mouse trap, a game where two students swing the rope and the others try to run through it without getting trapped or touched by the rope. The ping pong table is also very popular as well. I interviewed Alexia Beight in fifth grade and she said her favorite new item is the jump ropes because when we play jump rope instead of the fifth graders playing with the fifth graders and eighth graders playing with eighth graders, all the big kids come together and play with each other. I think that everyone is so happy and thankful to have this new equipment.
